Hello everyone. I would just like to thank everyone for being so patient with our soaps during this time. I hope everyone is staying inside and staying healthy during this rough time. With that being said we haven't had a whole lot of time to discuss our new ideas with each other.
Today I'm going to talk about the different products that we use and how we use them. Maybe this will seem interesting and fun to you and you can make some cool soaps over the break. One thing we use are essential oils. We use these if someone wants a soap that has a very subtle smell, such as lavender and peppermint. We have started using a lot more soap scents. The soap scents allow us to make soaps with more of you everyday scents such as, different types of fruit and just normal scents. Another thing we use are plastic soap molds. We like to use these because they are very simple shapes and if we're being honest, the plastic molds are the easiest to get soap out of after they've cooled. Although, we have found that cookie cutters are very fun to work with!! They are able to give us so many more awesome designs to work with. Even though it is a little harder to get out, it's worth it. When we use the cookie cutters were have to wrap it in tin foil so that they liquids don't get out, but when you take it out you can see all of the tin foil marks on the bottom. So to get that off we decided to use a vegetable peeler It actually works so good. I highly recommend a vegetable peeler if you need to smooth your soap out. We have soap dyes that we use to color the soaps that we make. We only buy three colors at a time because we can mix the colors to get different shades or even completely different colors. Oh my gosh, I almost completely forgot! We use a melt and pour soap base. There are all different kinds of bases you can choose from. We mainly use glycerin and goat milk base.
